How can aluminum oxide and other ceramics be bonded to aluminum? I understand the coefficents of thermal expansion (CTE) differences can really cause issues.
Can you explain how active brazing works and why it needs a vacuum atmosphere?
I’m wondering if anyone has experience with “hermetically” brazing aluminum nitride ceramic to metal. I’m told that standard refractory Mo/Mn isnt recommended due to the high firing temps (1350C – 1500C) phase transforms the ALN into Al2O3……Am I mis-informed? Thanks for any 411 Bob
